Wigan reject Arsenal’s inquiry for Hugo Rodallega
Hugo Rodallega is in Arsene Wenger’s sights.
The Wigan striker has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal who have had an inquiry for the player denied.
The Gunners are indeed long-time admirers of Rodallega after the Colombian star was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates stadium during the 2009/10 season.
And after Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho’s temporal departure to the African Cup of Nations, Wenger has been left with Park-Chu Young as the only natural striker to back up Robin van Persie.

Following Sunday’s frustrating defeat to Manchester United – Arsenal’s third in three league games – the Gunners boss appears to have made a move to restore Arsenal’s fire power.
According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Wigan are unwilling to sell the 26-year-old striker to Arsenal at the moment.
“The latest from the DW Stadium is that Wigan have rejected an inquiry from two Premier League clubs for Hugo Rodalllega. The clubs are understood to be QPR who have also requested for Victor Moses and Arsenal FC.” Sheth reported.

Are you being serious? Is Rodallega the BEST we can do? Oh dear.. it doesn’t look good!

I dont know why people are so upset .. Do we want “bigger names” Hell yeah .. Reus and others come to mind would love Edson Cavani, but Roddalega is really a decent striker one who already knows prem and could fit in our team directly.. I dont think there is much between him and Adebayor for instance. Id have him plus now bigger name in summer.

i think reus agree to move to dormund already, cavani would be lovely but arsenal would never spend around 30M to get him , rodallega really is average at best ,never rate him but the club now want average performance and dont push for the best so Rodallega is good for us

Frm wat i hav seen he’s nt even better than chamakh

frankly i will be surprised if arsenal buys anyone this window.
if we have any money, wenger’s too stubborn to spend it.
if wenger does try to get rodallega, our negotiators will get wigan’s backs up and they won’t cooperate.
basically it’s not very likely.
but if it does happen, he’d be ok. 12-15 goals a season. fine. £5m? i say go for it.

Wenger’s completely out of ideas.

I’ll rather Victor Moses rather than Rodallega. Officially, we have declared our lack of ambition

Rodallega is a very good player and that would show more if he had better support. But I’d still rather take Moses. Under AW or Bouldy’s tutelage he’d be magnificent. We should’ve got him when we had the chance. Same with Connor Wickham. Every game I watch that he plays he always outplays Bedtner. The kids got class!

I had a bet with my mate last Sunday that this guy would get linked to Arsenal befiore the end of the transfer window – and hey presto so it appears!
Relax kids, Rodollega is the new Seb Frey i.e. gets linked every transfer window and never comes. Chill.
